Registered lenders

Registration makes lending accountable. A lender is a wallet linked to an Aether ID profile, so borrowers and RA pledgers can see who they deal with. The name, bio, website and links come from the profile; the loans, outcomes and reviews come straight from the chain, so a lender cannot write its own record.
Becoming a lender
- Have an Aether ID profile. The page registers your wallet's primary profile; to lend under another one, such as a service profile, make it your primary profile in Aether ID first. The wallet must own the profile or act for it as an admin. If you have none, the Lenders page links to Aetherpost to create one.
- Open Lending, Lenders, Become a lender. Fill in your terms if you like (loan sizes, rate range, loan lengths, whether you take RA pledges, a note) and press Register. The registration fee, 1 TAZ today, goes to Saturn's fee wallet. Leave Announce it on Aetherpost ticked to post a short announcement from your profile, with your terms and a link to your lender page, in the same transaction.
- You can now send offers on loan requests and receive RA pledges. Your lender page opens from the Lenders list.
Managing your registration
- Save terms: change your terms at any time. They show on your page; the contract only stores them.
- Pause lending: no new offers, borrowers cannot accept your open offers, and nobody can pledge RA to you. Loans already running carry on. Resume lending turns it back on.
- Close registration: ends it. Your open offers can no longer be accepted (withdraw them to get the TAZ back), and nobody can pledge to you. Running loans, pledges already made, your record and your reviews stay. Registering again pays the fee again.
- Link my primary Aether ID: moves your registration to the profile that is now primary for your wallet.
- A profile is linked to one lender wallet at a time. If your wallet loses the right to act for the profile, the next wallet that can act for it may take the link over, and the old wallet's registration ends.
What a lender page shows
- The profile: name, bio and links from Aether ID, the registration date and the status (active, paused or suspended).
- The record, read from the lending contracts: loans made, running, repaid, defaulted or liquidated, the share repaid, TAZ lent, interest earned, TAZ rewards generated, offers sent, RA pledgers and RA pledged.
- Every loan with its amount, rate, term, outcome and TAZ reward, and under it the borrower's review and the lender's reply. A review sits next to its loan's size, so a review of a tiny loan visibly weighs less.
- A Pledge RA to this lender button when the lender takes pledges.
- TAZ rewards are recorded per loan from saturntaz 1.2.5; a loan rewarded earlier shows the reward as settled without an amount.
Reviews
- Only the borrower of a loan can review it, and only once the loan has ended: repaid, defaulted or liquidated. The lender cannot review its own loan.
- One review per loan: 1 to 5 stars and a text, from Review this loan on the lender's page. The borrower can rewrite it up to 5 times.
- The lender can post one reply per review; a new reply replaces the old one.
- The rating is the average of the visible reviews. It also follows the lender's profile, so a lender that moves to a new wallet on the same profile keeps its rating. The record of loans belongs to the wallet, so a new wallet starts its record at zero.
Moderation
- Aetherpost moderators can hide a review that breaks the rules; a hidden review leaves the rating. A moderator cannot moderate reviews of its own loans.
- Moderators can suspend a lender: no new offers, no accepting its open offers and no new pledges. A suspended lender cannot close or change its profile to escape. Only the admin reinstates, and the lender comes back paused.
- The admin can change the registration fee and, in an emergency, switch the registration requirement off.
Borrowers do not register. Their credit profile is created automatically when they post a request.
Questions people ask
- Why register at all?
- So borrowers and RA pledgers know who a lender is and can judge it by a record nobody can fake: every figure on a lender page comes from the lending contracts, and only real borrowers can review.
- Can I review a lender while my loan is running?
- No. A review opens once the loan has ended, so nobody can review a loan the moment it opens.
- What happens to my offers if I pause?
- They stay listed but cannot be accepted until you resume. Withdraw an offer to get its TAZ back.
- Does closing my registration affect my running loans?
- No. Running loans carry on as agreed, and your record and reviews stay on your page. Only your open offers stop: they can no longer be accepted, so withdraw them to get the TAZ back.
