Creating a token
Mint a new token to your own wallet in two signatures.
Open Create tokenIn shortName it, pick a supply, sign twice. The whole supply lands in your wallet, and a pool is what makes it tradeable.
- Symbol
- 3 to 15 letters
- Cost
- 10,000 to 12,500 KCAL and about 11 SOUL
- Icon
- 64 by 64, stored on chain
- Seal
- at creation, optional
- Give it a name and a symbol. The symbol is 3 to 15 capital letters and must be unused on the chain.
- Add a description and, if you like, a website and an icon. The icon is shrunk to 64 by 64 pixels and stored on the chain itself, so keep it simple.
- Choose the supply to mint, from the presets or a custom number. It all goes to your wallet.
- Decide whether to cap the maximum supply at that amount. Capped means no one, including you, can ever mint more. Uncapped means you can mint more later.
- Leave Seal at creation ticked to seal the token in the same signature, so no contract can ever be attached to it. Untick it to leave that open; you can seal it later under Tools → Seal.
- Sign twice: once to create the token, once to mint the supply. Expect 10,000 to 12,500 KCAL of gas for the create (shorter symbols cost more) and about 11 SOUL in data fees.
Creating a token does not make it tradeable. To let people buy it, open a pool for it in Liquidity, run a launchpad, or start a syndicate. The token page under Tokens starts showing it once it trades.
Sealing
Since October 2026 the owner of a token that has no contract can seal it. A token contract is code attached to a token: it runs on the transfers DEX contracts make and can block them, and whoever attached it can replace it. Once a token is sealed, no contract can ever be attached to it, and the seal cannot be removed, short of a change by the chain's own governance. A token that already has a contract cannot be sealed.
A seal does not stop minting (only a cap that is fully minted does) or a new inflation schedule, and the owner can still change the name, icon, description and link; the seal stays through every such change. On the chain a seal is the token metadata entry _sealed_c with the value 1, and the token's flags do not change. Each token page says whether the token is sealed or has a contract, once Saturn has read it. Create token seals the tokens it makes unless you untick Seal at creation. Any token you own that has no contract can be sealed later under Tools → Seal, which lists your tokens and seals one per signature. Every launch is sealed at birth.
